Oppo Find 5 appears wearing a bright red paintjob

Oppo Find 5 with a brand new color scheme made an appearance. The Chinese top shelf Android smartphone posed for a photo session, wearing a screaming red paintjob.

Reportedly, there is no change in the specifications of the smartphone - hardly a surprise, considering its already solid internals. The new color however, draws even more attention to the Find 5's already great looking body.

Apparently, the red handset is part of a limited edition release. However, there's no info on pricing or availability for it.

AT&T updates iPhone 5/4S with Emergency Alerts support

AT&T has started pushing out a software update for the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4S in the US, which adds support for Wireless Emergency Alerts.
Once you install this update, your phone will be able to receive these alerts, which are issued by the government. You will receive notifications for things such as AMBER (America's Missing: Broadcasting Emergency Response) alerts, emergency alerts for man-made or natural disasters or Presidential alerts.
After installing the update, you will find two new options in your Notifications settings menu on your iPhone. Here you can choose to disable the AMBER alters and emergency alerts but the Presidential alerts will always be on.
The update is being pushed out by AT&T and should be available on your iPhone 5 and 4S by now.

HTC One Mini gets officially confirmed by a UAPROF

HTC One Mini got confirmed by a user agent profile, released by its manufacturer. The document reveals the upcoming handset's previously speculated 720p (1280 x 720 pixels) screen resolution.

The rumored specs of the HTC One Mini include a chipset with 1.4GHz dual-core CPU (probably a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400), 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in memory, and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Given the numerous leaks, which the HTC One Mini has appeared in, we reckon that it won't be long before the mid-range smartphone goes official. Previous reports have pointed at a Q3 release.

Leaked Samsung Galaxy Note III sample confirms 13MP camera

As September approaches and with it the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Note III, rumors about the upcoming phablet are bound to intensify. Today we got the first sample from the handset's camera, which confirms the resolution of its snapper.
The image which was uploaded to the Picasa web albums has a resolution of 2322 x 4128 pixels, which is what a 13MP sensor produces in 16:9 mode. This means that Samsung will again equip its flagship smartphone and phablet with identical camera modules - a tradition that has been going since the first Galaxy Note came to life.
The EXIF info confirms that the Samsung Galaxy Note III will have the same F/2.2 aperture and 31mm lens as the Galaxy S4. Given the excellent performance of this particular sensor and lens combo on the Galaxy S4, it's hardly a surprise that Samsung is in no rush to upgrade it.

Aluminum shell of unannounced Nokia lumia device leaks

We have already seen quite a bit of the unannounced Nokia EOS smartphone that is supposed to have a 41 megapixel PureView camera and running on Windows 8.

Now, a metal shell of an unannounced Nokia device has leaked that suggests there could be another Lumia device in the making with a full metal body. The shell is made out of aluminum and you can see cut outs for the camera lens and LED flash on the back and SIM slot and USB port on the top.
Also noticeable is a rather pronounced hump on the back of the phone. This could be because of a particularly large sensor or because the phone itself being so thin that there was not much space inside without the sensor bulging out.
Whether this device is being developed or was an early version of some other device that got cancelled, is something we don't know. But we do know that the EOS device we saw being leaked earlier has a 41 megapixel sensor for sure, as can be seen from the image below.

The company has used its Twitter account to post a number of teaser pictures over the past two days, including a couple that shows the smartphone itself and its box.

We've already learned virtually all there is to know about the Huawei Ascend P6, including its detailed specs and its design thanks to previous leaks. However, these latest attempts by the manufacturer show that it is very committed to its upcoming smartphone, which bodes well for its after-sale support. The company has been doing very well on its home market over the past few years, but it seems now it is finally ready to mount a serious challenge to the established players elsewhere too.

We'll see how it all pans out in four days, when the company hosts its beauty event. Make sure you check back with us for all the information from it.

Nokia to hold an event on July 11, says it'll reinvent the zoom

Nokia has just issued a press invite with a very interesting design stating "Zoom reinvented", hinting the company is ought to officially announce the Nokia EOS cameraphone.

While the EOS moniker hasn't been confirmed in any way, nor the number of the megapixels the camera of the phone will sport, we have a very good idea of how it'll look. Nokia is also likely to show new Windows Phone 8 features that'll make use of the first proper cameraphone running the OS.
We'll be covering the event up close and keep you up to speed with all the latest Nokia has to announce. It's certainly going to be a wild ride, considering Nokia's competition is gearing up for a cameraphone-oriented battle.

US Samsung Galaxy S4 Active to launch exclusively on AT&T

AT&T officially announced that it will be launching the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active exclusively in the US. The carrier dunked a unit in water to celebrate, relying on the IP67-certified hardware to keep going.
Pre-orders will be starting tomorrow, Friday, with the first Galaxy S4 Active units expected to hit AT&T stores (both brick and mortar and online) about a week later on June 21. The price is set at $200 with a 2-year contract.
The Galaxy S4 Active for AT&T will be available in two color versions: Urban Gray and Dive Blue
Still, not bad for a fully featured flagship with a 5" 1080p screen (an LCD instead of Super AMOLED like the regular S4), Snapdragon 600 chipset with four Krait 300 cores at 1.9GHz, fast LTE connectivity and 8MP camera (down from 13MP for the city slicker S4).
There's more – IR blaster to control your TV, Air Gestures, SAFE certification for security-conscious business types and all sorts of other features. Here are the highlights, presented in 60 seconds:

New Nokia EOS photo sizes it up against the Lumia 920

We already got familiar with the upcoming Nokia EOS cameraphone and concluded it looked pretty similar to the Nokia Lumia 920.
However, Vizileaks, one of the main sources of the Nokia EOS leaks has taken yet another photo of the Windows Phone 8-running cameraphone to show the world just how visually similar the new Nokia flagship is to its predecessor.

Not many differences can be spotted at first sight, but looking closer reveals that Nokia has changed the position of the logo and the front-facing camera on the EOS. The screen of the Nokia EOS also extends just a bit more, than the Lumia 920, leaving a very thin plastic frame below it.
Naturally, the Nokia EOS stands at an angle as its camera hump protrudes quite a lot. We are eager to compare it to the recently announced Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, but Nokia hasn't mentioned anything yet about a potential official announcement of the EOS.
