We were checking our email inbox today and, oh joy, we've received an invite from LG for an August 7 event in New York. The invite tagline is Great 2 Have You, which clearly point to the star of the show - Great 2 Have You!
There seems to be little doubt that the smartphone to be unveiled is the LG Optimus G2, the heir to the popular Optimus G. The new LG flagship will likely bring forward a 5.2" 1080p display and an optically-stabilized 13 MP camera as well as a Snapdragon 800 chipset and on-screen buttons with a revamped Android 4.2.


There's also the official video teaser, which arrived alongside the invitation.

Intel is very committed to the development of Tizen. We see a unique role for Tizen in the industry to create and to grow a new, open and flexible, mobile operating system that allows developers to "write once/run on many devices". Tizen has received broad industry support through the Tizen Association and has achieved major milestones this year including establishing the storefront, releasing the Tizen 2.1 source code, the Tizen IVI 2.0 and the Tizen 2.2 Beta SDK that was just released yesterday.

Micromax has launched the highly anticipated Canvas 4 in India. The phone was being teased for quite a while now and was even up for pre-order (without announcing the full price) but it was finally unveiled in an event today at New Delhi.


The Canvas 4 has a 5.0-inch, 1280 x 720 'TRU-HD' IPS panel, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 13 megapixel rear camera with five element lens, image stabilization, multiple face detection and vertical panorama, 5 megapixel front camera, dual SIM, dual standby functionality, expandable memory, flip cover option, 2,000mAh battery and Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.


One of the unique features of this phone is Blow to Unlock, wherein you essentially blow a kiss to your phone to unlock it (yes, that's an actual feature). Other, more sensible features include video pinning to pin videos on the homescreen and look away to pause video, stuff that's straight out of Samsung's TouchWiz. You can also turn the phone down during a call and it automatically switches to loudspeaker mode.
The Micromax Canvas is priced at ₹17,999 ($295) and will be on sale this weekend in India.

The HTC Butterfly S is HTC's second flagship in a short period of time and it's already on sale. Those early prices are not cheap but only a few stores even offer it officially.
One we found is Overseas Electronics – the Butterfly S is available in Black, Grey, White and Red and is priced $850 (US only shipping).
Another store, Negri Electronics, has put it up on pre-order for $770, but unfortunately there's no indication of when it will actually ship.


Ebay, of course, also has a few offers for the Butterfly S but they are even pricier – one from Taiwan is priced at $900.
Speaking of Taiwan, you can find it for about $765 there (NT$ 22,900) in at least three stores.
The HTC Butterfly S packs a 5" 1080p screen, BoomSound speakers (two on the front), Android 4.2 with Sense 5 and Blinkfeed, Snapdragon 600 chipset (quad-core Krait 300 at 1.9GHz, 2GB RAM, Adreno 320 GPU), UltraPixel camera (no OIS) and Zoe, plus a microSD card slot and a massive 3,200mAh battery.
