Apple iPhone 5S A7 Chip Said to be 31% Faster

Apple’s rumored Sept. 10 iPhone event is rapidly approaching, and while we’ve seen lots of pictures of the new gold color option, and heard tons of rumors about a fingerprint scanner, there hasn’t been much information concerning the A7 processor. With the date of the announcement rapidly approaching, however, it looks like that may be changing.

Clayton Morris of Fox News tweeted this morning that sources are telling him that the A7 processor is running 31 percent faster than the A6 chip present in the current iPhone 5.

Not that the iPhone 5 has exactly lagged in speed for most tasks, but it’s doubtful that anyone would look down on a speed increase in their phone’s processor.

Additionally, Morris later tweeted that his sources are also informing that a separate chip is being added for motion tracking.

It’s beginning to look as though while the iPhone 5S may not change that much externally from the iPhone 5, but there could be a lot going on under the hood as it were. Should the rumors of the Sept. 10 event turn out to be true, which we believe they are, we don’t have very long to wait to find out.

Sony Xperia Honami Mini photo sizes it up against BlackBerry Q10

We’ve had a good look at the big Sony Xperia Z1 / Honami, how about a blurry look of the rumored Honami Mini next? A post from a newly registered XDA-Developers user Xleaky shows a compact Sony phone next to a BlackBerry Q10.
The post reads: “You didn't see this from me... but 4th of Sep is gonna be exciting! Thats all I'm saying!”

The BlackBerry Q10 measures 119.6 x 66.8 mm and the Sony phone in the picture is visibly smaller. User vivftp calculated the dimensions of the Honami Mini using the Q10 as reference and ended up with 109.2 x 57.9mm.

That’s smaller than the 3.3” Xperia ray, so the rumored 4.3” screen for the Honami Mini (perhaps fittingly codenamed Ray 3) will be a difficult fit. 4” may be more realistic or this might not be the Mini at all.
Other rumored specs on the Sony Xperia Honami Mini include 720p resolution for the screen, same Snapdragon 800 chipset and 20.7MP camera as the big Honami and a 2,400mAh battery.
The big Xperia Z1 / Honami will be unveiled on September 4 (Sony isn’t shy with the teasers). And rumor has it we’ll see the Honami Mini debut then as well.

More images of the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C leak

With just couple more weeks left for the alleged launch event of the next generation iPhone, you can say the device is just around the corner. That also means, however, that the leaks are now coming in thick and fast to the point where there will be little new left to learn when the device(s) actually get announced.

Today we have more images of both the iPhone 5S as well as the iPhone 5C. The iPhone 5S here is seen in the new shade of champagne gold. It also has the glass back panels painted in white, so we now have a proper idea of what the final unit will look like, at least from the rear. The front should be identical to the current white iPhone 5. For more images of the iPhone 5S, click on the first source link below.

Then there are also images of the iPhone 5C, seen here in all five alleged shades that it would be sold in. Seen here are the yellow, green, white, cyan and pink colors with a possible color choice of black or white panel for the front.
At this point we have pretty much seen what there is to see in these new iPhones, at least as far as the design is concerned. Hopefully, the event invites come soon and it is indeed on the rumored September 10 date.

Sony Xperia Z1 press image and metal chassis leaks

The Sony Xperia Z1, erstwhile known as 'Honami', has leaked once again, this time through a press image. This latest image shows the device in three colors: black, white and purple.

The colors are identical to the ones the Xperia Z is sold in and the device itself looks remarkably similar.
One major difference between the exterior of the Z and the Z1, however, is the metal frame that runs around the device. It's unclear whether the metal acts are merely the frame for the device or also doubles up as the antenna as on the iPhone.

The Xperia Z1 is Sony's upcoming flagship Android smartphone that has been rumored for quite some time now. It is said to have a 5.0-inch FullHD display, quad-core 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 20 megapixel camera and all the bells and whistles you expect from a flagship Android device these days.
The Xperia Z1 is expected to be announced officially at an event in Berlin on September 4.
