HTC might launch Butterfly S and Desire 600 on June 19

HTC recently announced its dual-SIM Desire 600 with Sense 5 on board, but there was no word on the availability of the smartphone. The Taiwanese manufacturer might launch the Desire 600 smartphone along with the rumored Butterfly S on June 19, if these press invitations that appeared online are the real deal.

The HTC Butterfly S is said to be a slight upgrade over the current Butterfly with the device sporting a 5-inch 1080p display, UltraPixel camera, microSD card slot and a higher capacity battery.
We already know the specifications of the HTC Desire 600, but to recap its features, the device sports a 4.5-inch Super LCD2 display with qHD resolution, 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 200 chipset with Cortex A5 processor, Adreno 203 GPU, 1 GB of RAM, 8 megapixel rear camera and a 1.6 megapixel front shooter.
The Desire 600 comes with 8GB of inbuilt memory, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 1,860mAh battery and a wide range of connectivity options that include Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and GPS.

Huawei teases Ascend P6 in picture, shows video too

Huawei seems to have taken one from the Samsung book of hyping upcoming devices and is going all out with the upcoming Ascend P6.
The company has released a teaser pic of the droid sporting a clean white look and metal accents on the sides with a little peak at the Emotion UI on its screen.

The device is said to premiere at Huawei's London event on June 18 and we've already seen pictures in the wild alongside benchmark scores.

Nokia Lumia 925 goes on sale, hits Germany first

Almost a month after its announcement, the Lumia 925 has gone on sale.

The Nokia Lumia 925 will start its roll-out in in Europe with a debut in Germany. Vodafone is one of the carriers there to carry the aluminum Lumia 925 by the end of June. The next European countries to follow will be Italy, Spain and the UK. O2 has already confirmed it will be adding the new Nokia flagship to its arsenal in Britain. The rest of the countries in Europe should follow soon afterwards.
With Europe covered, Nokia will be focusing on Chinese, where it will release the Lumia 925T - a version of the 925 made specifically for the region. Then, the Lumia 925 is planned to be available in the US for T-Mobile. "Other markets worldwide" should follow in the coming months.
As far as pricing is concerned, the Lumia 925 is expected to retail for €470 in Europe before taxes or subsidies and around $600 in the US. Carriers should announce the on-contract prices in the coming weeks, too.

Oppo Find 5 Mini leaks, said to pack a 3.7" 720p screen

After releasing the Find 5 and making it available to Europeans, Oppo looks to be on its way of releasing a smaller version of its flagship Android smartphone dubbed Oppo Find 5 Mini.

The Oppo Find 5 Mini is said to feature the same design as its bigger brother, but with a smaller screen at the front. According to the reports the display will measure 3.7" in diagonal and will have 720p resolution.
Despite the smaller size of the Find 5 Mini, it might pack the same quad-core processor as the one in the Find 5. That's still to be confirmed though, as there's also chatter online that a far less capable 1.2GHz Mediatek CPU and an LCD IPS display could be deployed in order to keep pricing in check.

A few images of the purported Oppo Find 5 Mini have surfaced, suggesting different color options including red, green yellow and blue.
Currently, no further specifications are known. Pricing of the Oppo Find 5 Mini is rumored to be between €199 and €249, a significant reduction from the €399 price tag of the Oppo Find 5.
It's great seeing more and more manufacturers trying to make high-end smartphones with a smaller display and overall footprint. A market niche we believe is worth exploring, which is why we started a quest for a compact high-end Android smartphone.

Tim Cook: 50 Billion Apps Downloaded; 900,000 Apps Available

Apple CEO Tim Cook took the stage during WWDC 2013 and said that users have downloaded more than 50 billion apps from the iTunes App store to date. The store turns 5 years old next week. Cook also noted that there are 900,000 iOS apps available to download as well as 375,000 applications specifically for the iPad. 93 percent of all of those apps are downloaded each month, too.

Cook noted that there are now 575 million accounts and that developers have been paid $10 billion in revenue so far. Cook will reveal plenty of additional information today, so stay tuned for more information.

Apple Announces New MacBook Airs With Haswell Chip, Starts Shipping Today

Apple on Monday introduced a completely new MacBook Air lineup, headlining the announcement by saying the new lineup will get all-day battery thanks to Intel’s new Haswell chip. The 11-inch model will get 9 hours while the 13-inch will get 12 hours.
The 11-inch model will start at $999 for 128GB flash storage and $1,099 128GB flash storage for the 13-inch model. Both models will be upgradeable to 256GB flash storage, Apple said.

Apple Officially Unveils iOS 7 at WWDC 2013

Apple on Monday officially unveiled iOS 7 at WWDC 2013, calling it the biggest change since the first iPhone hit in 2007. As expected, it looks much different than how you and I know iOS to be right now. There is a quick settings menu, new camera, new card multitasking, icons, weather—an all-new experience that ditches the skueomorphic look for something more simple, sleek andcool. The company is going over the new features right now so we’ll be updating this post in the coming minutes and hour.

iOS 7 Design Info Leaks Hours Ahead of WWDC

We’ve already imagined what iOS 7 might look like should Apple implement several new ideas we’ve thought up, and now 9to5Mac has published its own set of mockups. The difference is that9to5Mac said that it has already seen real screen shots from iOS 7 but, because Apple can track where those came from, it decided to create new mockups in Photoshop that resemble what has already been seen.
As you’ll note, the design does indeed seem to be “flatter” as we’ve heard. There isn’t any gloss or shading on the icons, and instead each looks much simpler than before. 9to5Mac said that Apple extended the simplicity into the cell signal bar, where instead of bars users will simply see dots indicating the strength of the current signal. Presumably there will still be a way to identify an LTE connection, too.
Finally, black and white apparently do have large roles in the operating system. There are two themes available, and it’s unclear if the iPhone will take advantage of the white theme during some conditions and the black theme during others (driving at night maybe). The black theme has a black keyboard while the white theme employs a grey keyboard.

Alleged prototype of Samsung Galaxy Note III appears

The next generation Galaxy Note III phablet has been in the rumorland for quite some time. Today, we see the first leak photo of a prototype device.
The leaked images of the upcoming Galaxy Note III shows us the huge display and the curved corners along with the high resolution display. The thin bezel of the prototype confirms that the device is not a Galaxy Mega 6.3.
Samsung Galaxy Note III is rumored to feature a 5.99-inch Super AMOLED display with the same pixel structure as the Galaxy S4's display, a 13 megapixel rear camera, Snapdragon 800 or the Exynos octa-core processor, an S-Pen and the latest Android OS.
The Samsung Galaxy Note III is expected to be unveiled at the IFA 2013 this September, but there is no official word about that just yet.

A Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 S7270 mugshot surfaces online

We already knew Samsung has the next generation of the Ace lineup in the pipeline and today we get a leak of a nicely looking official image.
Samsung's Galaxy Ace line has always offered an excellent price-to-quality ratio. While all the people drooled after the high-end Samsung Galaxy S3 last year, most of them ended up buying either an Ace 2 or a Galaxy S3 Mini. They visually resembled the flagship, but came with a balanced feature set and a price tag that's much easier to swallow. But we digress.
Back to the new photo, the frontal pic of the Ace 3 looks rather generic, or even boring. That's hardly a surprise though, as the same thing holds true for most Galaxy smartphones after the Galaxy S2 generation. Samsung wouldn't risk experimenting with the design of a mass-market smartphone such as the Ace 3. Any future change would have to be introduced by the trend-setting Galaxy S line, so we expect no change in design before the eventual announcement of a Galaxy S5 phone next year.
We already knew the specs of the Galaxy Ace 3 from another leak last month, but it's nice to finally put a face to the name.
Specs-wise, we expect from the Galaxy Ace 3 to feature a 4-inch LCD with WVGA resolution, a 1GHz dual-core processor with 1 GB of RAM, a 5 megapixel rear camera, and a 1,500mAh battery. As you see, not much will be changed compared to the Ace 2, except the screen size and, probably, the newer version of Android that should be on board.
Curiously, the model number of the Galaxy Ace 3 S7270 is actually lower than the one of the Ace 2 I8160 and it's not even under the same portfolio category, as evident from the change of the letter designation.
Rumors claim the price of the Galaxy Ace 3 should be around US$300, which would actually make it substantially more expensive than the current Ace 2, which runs for about 2/3 of that amount.
Anyway, the Galaxy Ace 3 should be announced quite soon, as according to further leaked info, the Ace 3 should become available in July.
