Apple Updates FaceTime Logo Trademark
With Apple’s upcoming release of iOS 7 the entire user interface is getting a makeover, and that includes the design of all of the app icons. While that seems like a simple thing to do, it also means that the company will need to update all of the trademarks it has relating to those images.
Patently Apple discovered over the weekend that the first trademark has been updated, and it’s the icon for Apple’s FaceTime app. As opposed to the old gray logo that showed a camera with a lens in it, the new one features a green gradient background with a simple white camera in the center.
Apple has been playing around with the iOS 7 icons a bit, but with this one now having gone through the trademark office, it seems a lock that this will be the final design for the FaceTime app. We’re sure more of them will pass through the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office in the near future, giving us a better idea of what to expect when the final version of the software is released in the fall.
