iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C to Be Most Successful Product Launches Ever, Says Analyst
Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5S is expected to be an iterative update: better camera, better internals, and maybe the added benefit of a fingerprint scanner. Otherwise it’ll be a more powerful iPhone 5 in three possible colors. And even though it hasn’t been released, and might not be until the end of October, one analyst is already declaring it part of Apple’s most successful product launch to date.
In a new research note on Tuesday, Trip Chowdhry, Managing Director of Equity Research at Global Equities Research, said Apple’s combination of low-and-high-end devices will be “massively successful,” citing data claiming people in India, Malaysia and Thailand buy cheaper Android phones when really they want iPhones. On the high-end, Apple can reach its current userbase with the iPhone 5S. But with its iPhone 5C, Apple will finally be able to crack emerging markets like the ones mentioned above.
“This will be the most successful product launch ever in the history of Apple,” Chowdhry declares.
Chowdhry is allegedly one of Apple’s biggest critics, and feels innovation doesn’t exist at Apple. “Where is Apple TV?” Chowdhry complains, basing his feelings on long running rumors. “Where is iWatch?”
With Apple expected to unveil two separate iPhone lines this fall, it was never hard to claim the launch would be among its most successful, especially when iPhone launches consistently outperform previous generations. We could potentially see Apple reach all new heights with devices catering to every imaginable market segment; in Chowdhry’s estimation, it’ll be Apple’s most successful ever. We’ll see just how successful in a matter of weeks.
